It was a big donut.
Much bigger than a normal person could eat,
but then Bill was far from normal.
So eating the donut was something Bill could do.
Bill’s donut eating skill-set appeared to be a good match
for the donut eating challenge at hand.
One might even envision Bill leading us forward
as he ate this donut.
Then we looked up and “Small-Mouthed” Jim had cut the donut
up into many pieces and eaten it.
People had come to expect this kind of leadership from Jim.
Few were surprised when Jim was elected President.
Put the first man on Mars.
And banned oversized donuts.

Sometimes I get tired of always being right.
Always right.
For once I’d like to be wrong.
Or at least partially wrong.
Or as wrong as it is possible for me to be,
since I’m always right.
Once, just once, I’d like to know how the wrong people feel.
It would be great if I had the freedom
to one day say something stupid.
I mean really stupid.
Really, really stupid.
But there’s a lot of responsibility
that comes with always being right
and being smarter than everyone else.
And better looking.
Interesting.
Well, so much for borrowing a copy of my boss’s notes
from that last meeting.
